4-5 pounds beef 3 bone short rib
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups beef broth
1 cup red wine
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh herbs, for garnish
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the beef 3 bone short rib with salt and pepper, then sear it on all sides in the skillet until browned.
Transfer the short rib to a slow cooker.
In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic for 2-3 minutes until softened.
Add the beef broth, red wine, tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and smoked paprika to the skillet.
Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
